SOLUTIONS:
NEVER USE STRONGER CONCENTRATIONS THAN WHAT IS RECOMMENDED FOR CLEANING
CARPET STAINS.
Always wash solution residue with warm water. Neglecting this may
cause further soiling. A mist sprayer is recommended to prevent oversaturation.
Blot with paper towels or napkins and pat dry after each rinsing.
DETERGENT
SOLUTION: Add 1/4 teaspoon of mild, liquid dishwashing
detergent to 1 cup of lukewarm water. DO NOT USE
automatic dishwashing detergent, as it may contain bleaching agents
that can destroy some dyes and fibers.
AMMONIA SOLUTION: Add 1 tablespoon of household
ammonia per cup of water.
SOLVENT SOLUTION: Use a non-flammable spot removal
solution or dry cleaning-type solvent. NEVER pour solvent directly
onto carpet or allow it to absorb into the carpet's backing. To
do so could result in damage to the latex that holds the primary
and secondary backings together.
NAIL POLISH REMOVER: There are two types: (1) acetone,
a dry cleaning solvent, and (2) amyl acetate; when using this type,
always rinse area thoroughly with dry solvent.
VINEGAR SOLUTION: Add 1 cup of white vinegar per
two cups of water.
SPOT REMOVAL KIT: Some kits contain: (1) detergent
solution and (2) stain-resistant solution. PLEASE NOTE: Use of stain-resistant
solution prior to complete removal of the spill may cause permanent
staining. Other kits may have a (3) dry extraction cleaning compound.
