CUT PILE: Loops are cut, creating individual yarn tufts. Its durability is achieved by factors such as the type of fiber, density of tufts, and the amount of twist in the yarn.

• SAXONY: pile yarns have more twist and are visible
• PLUSH/VELVET: fine, tip sheared surface
• FRIEZE: yarns are extremely twisted for a knobby appearance; extremely durable
• CUT AND LOOP PILE: mixture of cut and looped yarns creates a distinctive carved appearance and sculptured effects
• MULTI-LEVEL LOOP PILE: 2-3 different loop heights create pattern effects; highly durable;
• LEVEL LOOP PILE: usually made with olefin fiber
